Abstract:

In this paper we prove some stochastic comparisons results for progressive type II censored order statistics. The problem of stochastically comparing concomitants of the two progressive type II censored order statistics with possibly different schemes, under different kinds of dependence between X and Y is considered and it is proved that if Y is stochastically increasing (decreasing) in X, in some senses, then the concomitant variables Y R^~ ’s are stochastically [i:n] increasing (decreasing) according to usual stochastic ordering, hazard rate ordering, likelihood ratio ordering, mean residual life ordering and dispersive ordering.

Progressive Type II censored order statistics for multivariate observations

For a sequence of independent and identically distributed random vectorsXi = (X1 i , X2 i , . . . , X i ), i = 1, 2, . . . , n, we consider the conditional ordering of these random vectors with respect to the magnitudes of N(Xi ), i = 1, 2, . . . , n, where N is a p-variate continuous function defined on the support set of X1 and satisfying certain regularity conditions. We also consider the Pr...

Progressive type II censored order statistics from exponential distributions

Abstract. In the model of progressive type II censoring, point and interval estimation as well as relations for single and product moments are considered. Based on two-parameter exponential distributions, maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs), uniformly minimum variance unbiased estimators (UMVUEs) and best linear unbiased estimators (BLUEs) are derived for both location and scale parameters. So...

Some Results Based on Entropy Properties of Progressive Type-II Censored Data

In many life-testing and reliability studies, the experimenter might not always obtain complete information on failure times for all experimental units. One of the most common censoring schemes is progressive type-II censoring. The aim of this paper is characterizing the parent distributions based on Shannon entropy of progressive type-II censored order statistics. It is shown that the equality...

Some New Results on Stochastic Orderings between Generalized Order Statistics

In this paper we specify the conditions on the parameters of pairs of gOS’s under which the corresponding generalized order statistics are ordered according to usual stochastic ordering, hazard rate ordering, likelihood ratio ordering and dispersive ordering. We consider this problem in one-sample as well as two-sample problems. We show that some of the results obtained by Franco et al. ...

On properties of dependent general progressively type-II censored order statistics

In the literature of life-testing, general progressive censoring has been studied extensively. But, all the results have been developed under the key assumption that the units undertest are independently distributed. In this paper, we study general progressively Type-II censored order statistics arising from identical units under test which are jointly distributed according to an Archimedean co...

Stochastic and Dependence Comparisons Between Extreme Order Statistics in the Case of Proportional Reversed Hazard Model

‎Independent random‎ ‎variables $Y_{1},ldots‎ ,‎Y_{n}$ belongs to the‎ ‎proportional reversed hazard rate (PRHR) model with‎ ‎proportionality parameters $lambda_1,...,lambda_n$‎, ‎if‎ ‎$Y_{k}sim G^{lambda _{k}}(x)$‎, ‎for $k=1,...,n$‎, ‎where $G$ is an‎ ‎absolutely continuous distribution function‎. ‎In this paper we compare‎ ‎the smallest order‎ ‎statistics‎, ‎the sample ranges and th...
